Summerset by the Lake is located across the road from the shores of the stunning Lake Taupo.  The village is not far from Rainbow Point, on the southern boundary of Taupo's town centre.  To the south is the majestic view of Mt Ruapehu and Mt Ngauruhoe, to the north looms the mystical Mt Tauhara, sacred to the Tuwharetoa people who first lived in this area.

Rest Home Care

Summerset by the Lake has a DHB contract to provide rest home level care. This will ensure that the very best of clinical care is available to residents in their own spacious care apartment, with subsidised care, if applicable.

Diversional Therapy

At Summerset we employ dedicated diversional therapy staff who provide daily activities and entertainment for residents individually and in groups. Common activities include bowls, daily news, van outings, flower arranging, quiz games and housie, or sometimes just a chat. Interdenominational church services are held regularly.

Respite Care/Short Term Care

Summerset welcomes residents who require short term care (also called respite care). You can stay with us for one day to one month. You may need care while your family or carer is away – or you may be recovering from a hospital stay. Subsidies are often available so do contact our Village Manager.

Day Care Programme

At Summerset we also offer a quality day care programme. Just book in and you can enjoy the warm supportive environment and companionship of other residents at a small cost. Subsidies may also be available.
