Summerset at Aotea is located within the Aotea residential development in Porirua, 20 minutes north of Wellington city.  This modern village is a short walk to the beautifully landscaped Aotea Lagoon, historic Gear Homestead and New Zealand Police College. Summerset at Aotea has a unique outlook across a nature reserve featuring typically Wellington hills. Plimmerton Beach and the Mana esplanade are just minutes away.

Rest Home Care

We have recently passed a rigorous independent audit and can now provide supported living right through to rest home care. This will ensure that the very best of clinical care is available to residents’ in their own spacious care apartment, with subsidised care, if applicable.

Hospital Care

Residents have priority access to the two care centres in our nearby villages at Trentham and Paraparaumu, which provide comfortable homely rooms in a warm and caring environment.

Day Care Programme

At Summerset we also offer a quality day care programme. Just book in and you can enjoy the warm supportive environment and companionship of other residents at a small cost. Subsidies may also be available.

Respite Care/Short Term Care

Summerset welcomes residents who require short term care (also called respite care). You can stay with us for one day to one month. You may need care while your family or carer is away – or you may be recovering from a hospital stay. Subsidies are often available, so contact our Village Manager.
