We are a modern, purpose-built, Stage II, home for the elderly. Comprehensive, on-going care is provided in the 45-bed aged care facility where residents enjoy the privacy of their own room with ensuite and the companionship of communal dining and living areas, fully supported by qualified nursing staff. We are dedicated to providing the sound management that an assisted living environment for the elderly needs, so that the staff on site can concentrate on what's really important - providing you with care and companionship that's genuine and freely given.

Special attention was given to selecting a location in a mature area enabling the residents to feel as though they are part of the community and thus stay interested in activities around them. Residents can enjoy the view over the city from the elevated dining room, watch the activity on the road below or retreat to the tranquillity of the protected courtyard adjacent to the Royal Heights Park. The Royal Heights Shopping Centre is located an easy 150m walk on the same side of the road. This has a Countdown Supermarket, Kiwibank Post Shop, ATM's, Pharmacy and various restaurants and other shops and a bus stop. Dental and Physiotherapy clinics are over the road. Also the large Westgate Shopping Centre is 5 minutes drive. A mobile Library visits regularly.

Quality of life is a key issue for the staff and management of Royal Heights. The weekly calendar includes arranged outings to local beaches, shops, clubs, and restaurants, as well as in-house bingo, cards, concerts, movies and learning programs. Interaction with fellow residents and other age groups from the neighbourhood is encouraged through a range of scheduled activities. Above all, our priority at Royal Heights is to provide a secure and nurturing environment where residents are treated as individuals who have made a valuable contribution to our society.

Royal Height’s central facilities comprise of a large lounge/entertainment area, dining room, reception, a doctors' visiting room, reception area, and two sunrooms opening to the beautiful central gardens.

Residents enjoy the privacy and independence of their own room, surrounded by treasured family mementos. All rooms are single with ensuite bathrooms but arrangements can be made for the joining of adjacent rooms to accommodate couples. Each room has a heater and a nurse call bell by the bed and in the ensuite.

To promote a safe living environment, a 24 hour-a-day emergency call system provides access to qualified personnel. Royal Heights has received a four year certification period.

A day stay program is available by appointment which offers a great introduction to the service on a regular or occasional basis and includes meals and entertainment. Some funding may be available for this.
