Redwood is situated in a peaceful corner at the end of Cleghorn Street in Redwoodtown, Blenheim. Our beautiful gardens are colourful all year round. Outside seating is plentiful and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. There’s a lovely fish pond to sit beside and watch the grandchildren play or just read a book. Security guards patrol the grounds at night to ensure everyone’s safety.

Redwood has a friendly, caring atmosphere where the residents are treated as individuals. We have many dedicated staff with seven having more than 15 years service, and eight staff with over 10 years service. Our staff take great pride in providing their residents with choices, such as what time they go to bed and get up, when they shower, what they eat and when. Breakfast is available from 6.30am – 10am from a buffet table where residents help themselves.

Redwood is renowned for its rehabilitation activities - our staff enjoy going the extra mile to help residents with their exercises and maintaining their independence.

Families often use the large lounge in our hospital wing to celebrate birthdays or other special occasions. We often cater for these occasions with beautiful food lovingly prepared by our kitchen staff.

Activities Programme

Redwood has a comprehensive activities programme that includes arts and crafts, swimming, mid-winter dinner, school groups entertaining, housie, garden walks, exercise groups, bowls and word quizzes. We also offer a regular happy hour, church services, shopping trips and outings to interesting places. Special touches include one-on-one hand massages, baking sessions and reminiscing.
