Although an expansive location, Duart is conveniently divided into three distinct and well organised sites.

We have a small rest home, which very much caters for intimacy and individual choice.

Our site also offers hospital care across two levels, with stunning panoramic views of Hawkes Bay - each outlook being different from the next, all bathed in sun.

With a focus on personal choice, we build our activities programme with variety in mind.

‘Very pet friendly’ is something we are proud of. Our cats are considered residents, along with birds and fish, and our residents love them all. We happily open our doors to visits from other animals, and even have a pony as a regular visitor!

Our Activities Coordinators take a pride in knowing our residents well and tailoring programmes that suits their tastes.

Men’s Club, outings in the Duart van for shopping or to places of interest, keep fit classes, quizzes, baking, reading, topical projects, visiting entertainers and sing-alongs are just a few examples of what’s on offer. We also know how important staying in touch with our residents is through regular one on one time.
