We are a Stage Two Rest Home providing a high standard of professional and holistic care for elderly residents.

Our home is situated on St John's Hill, Wanganui. It is surrounded by well-established grounds, farmland, patches of native bush, and beautiful views of the Whanganui River and suburbs.

Our Vision

Nazareth Rest Home is based on Christian principles which recognise the value of each person and acknowledge the wealth of life experience of each resident. Nazareth provides excellent nursing care and opportunities for social, intellectual and spiritual growth for each resident. The home continues in the spirit of the Sisters of St Joseph to encourage residents to live fully with hospitality and openness to the wider community.

Nazareth is a 46 bed home led by a manager and a care manager assisted by registered nurses and qualified home assistants. To help attain the maximum well-being for each resident, a diversional therapist and full time chaplains are provided. The manager is Angela Aspinall, and the nurse manager is Ingrid Johnson.

Nazareth is a member of the NZ Licensed Rest Homes Association and operates under the Old Peoples Home Regulations.
